The aims of the Shaftesbury Charitable Trust is to set up a fund which will provide for any charitable purpose directed wholly or mainly for the benefit of Shaftesbury. This will include helping maintain the historic building and paths in Shaftesbury, providing amenities for the town, and also for helping individual residents in suitable cases.

The Future

The trust is aiming to build it’s capital so that the interest earned each year will increase. This will enable more meaningful grants to help Shaftesbury residents and local organisations.
